Offcuts

The Offcuts series is a research-based project that redefines offcuts from waste into usable materials.

While recycling metal is beneficial, it still requires a significant amount of energy. By repurposing these offcuts instead of recycling or using new materials, we can reduce the energy needed to create products.

The latest version in the Offcuts series is the offcuts chandelier. This chandelier, made out of approximately 17.5 kg of low-alloy steel, uses 19 G4 LED lights as its light source. It can burn for about 273 days before consuming the same amount of energy required for recycling it.

The colour is RAL 1023 (Traffic Yellow), a hue commonly used in industrial settings.
